The year 2022 is coming to an end, and to honor the ups and downs Seller Central had this year, we will be discussing what this year was like in the Amazon world. It’s time to wrap up 2022, look at what the year has brought to Seller Central workers, and prepare ourselves for even more in 2023. Analyzing end-of-the-year results will not only allow us to reminisce on the past, but more importantly, it will allow us to set reasonable goals for next year. Let’s analyze where we’re at now to start 2023 on the right note and achieve new heights!
The amount of active Amazon Sellers is currently estimated at a little over 2 million. The data tells us that roughly 3,700 new sellers join Amazon every day, and 64% of Amazon businesses become profitable within their first year of operation. This year Amazon gained roughly $700 billion in revenue, and 22% of that sum was contributed by Amazon Sellers. That means that Amazon Sellers have acquired over 150 billion dollars in profits this year. If you have ever doubted that joining Amazon and Seller Central is a good idea – 55% of sellers were able to start their businesses in roughly three months, and 78% were able to launch in 6 months or less. The cherry on top is that 50% of all US-based eCommerce sales were made on Amazon!
Now let’s talk about customers – a huge part of what makes our Seller Central Jobs necessary! There are over 310 million customers worldwide, approximately 200 million of whom are Amazon Prime Members. It is estimated that 1 in 3 Americans have an Amazon Prime membership! The Amazon website receives billions of visits every month; for example, in February of this year, Amazon was visited 2.2 billion times. You probably won’t be shocked to hear that 89% of people said that they are more likely to buy from Amazon than to use other eCommerce sites! Amazon is, as always, the customers’ favorite. According to an official report from Amazon, there are 4,000 product sales by small and medium businesses every minute.
We could go on and on about the continuing success and growth of Amazon, but the point is clear as day already – Amazon is here to stay (not that we expected any less). Right now is as good of a time as any to start your Amazon journey! Seller Central is clearly a tricky world; however, statistics and analytics never lie. When in doubt, look at the numbers, and they will tell you the truth. In this case, the truth is that Amazon is growing, so next year we can expect even more Seller Central Jobs and Seller Central Employees to join us.
